Wayne gave a great massage--really effective at pinpointing the root of tension and working it out with targeted techniques that didn't require a lot of consistent pressure. I could feel muscles relaxing and unwinding while he worked on them. He was also really good about checking in and making sure I wasn't feeling pain or discomfort while he worked. I was in from out of town, but if I were local, I would be a regular client.
After years of pain and as a retired RN I have managed my pain. I have managed all of this with following the medical care faithfully.The most effective relief I have had has only taken the edge off. It's sad insurance doesn't cover deep tissue myofacial release. Wayne is very knowledgeable and has a true gift to provide this service. He is kind . He after carefully listening about pain history , he clearly explains the plan and how it all works. He is getting to the core of the cause of my pain and I am getting relief. And yes, this technique does have sound medical reasons why it works.

I came in not being able to walk upright, and I left being able to stand straight and walk with a regular stride. I appreciate his professionalism, and his knowledge of anatomy being in healthcare myself. I always appreciate when someone can give me information on how to further help myself not only with the session, but what can I do afterwards to help my health! My only regret is that I don't live close enough to go to Wayne with any frequency, but he gave me good information on how to seek out a therapist in my state. He's very kind! He also gave me hope that I can continue to improve my walking. Thank you very much, Wayne.

No bells and whistles. If you want candles and music and bells or whatever - no. Wayne is the place to go if you are serious about pain relief. I had my first session of site specific deep tissue bodywork done this morning. When I went in I could barely walk without limping and a constant rumble of pain in my legs and back. When I left I was almost in tears because I walked to my car 85% pain free in my legs for the first time in a long time! I am excited about doing my home work and then going back to keep working on it. It's important to realize that this is a process and depending on where your body is at determines how much can be accomplished. It's also important to know that there will be pain! I am thrilled I found Wayne and Massage Winona - it could really be life changing for me.

I’ve been going to Wayne for several months and he is extremely talented, personable and professional! He listens to what I say about how I’m feeling and works the areas to release the muscles. He explains how the muscles are connected and why he works specific areas, which I truly appreciate. I always feel 10 times better after I see him.
I thought that Wayne listened to my problem and really tried to do everything to help me! The deep tissue massages are intense, but fantastic! I feel like I’ve had knots in my back for 8 years that have finally been released. Really great experience!

I highly recommend both Wayne and Shashana--especially if you are looking for deep tissue work. My upper back was such a mess that I was having trouble sleeping...and I'm in much better shape after a few sessions. The culture at WKMT is one of respect and truly listening to client needs!
